The Squatters' Property Rights Experiment Module

When the Argentinian government gave property rights to squatters living on largely unclaimed land, the opportunities for natural experiments arose to see what health, economic, and other effects might come from this policy change. This module walks through a couple of examples.

Analyzing Natural Experiments: The Effect of Property Rights

This module describes a natural experiment that resulted in some groups of people getting property rights to land they were living on while others did not.

There are several papers studying the squatters natural experiment. The one we'll look at is: Galiani, Sebastian, and Ernesto Schargrodsky. "Effects of land titling on child health."
